Description
SPRES aims to: (i) develop a set of high resolution operational oceanographic systems in several estuaries or ports located in the Atlantic Area, and (ii) establish local oil spill response plans for these local areas based on risk assessment. The project includes the development of:
- a set of high resolution operational oceanographic systems,
- a set of high resolution operational oil spill forecast systems,
- a risk assessment system,
- local oil spill response plans
Objectives
- Establish local oil spill response plans for these local areas based on risk assessment
- Develop a set of high resolution operational oceanographic systems in several estuaries or ports located in the Atlantic Area

Results
- a set of high resolution operational oceanographic systems,
- a set of high resolution operational oil spill forecast systems,
- a risk assessment system,
- local oil spill response plans
Next challenges
Couple morphodynamic and ecosystem models to SPRES tools and develop long-term impact methods to improve oil spill response tools
