Description
The Castanhão-Fortaleza Water Conveyance System encompasses 202 km long-conveyance structures and pumping stations for the transport of a maximum flow of 22 m3/s, from its source at the Castanhão Dam, to existing dams in the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza.
The Castanhão pumping station comprises 8 vertical-axis and changeable speed electro-pump groups, with a total capacity of 16 MW. The two pressure pipelines are about 3,0 km long, with a Ø 2,50 m.
