Entity

Description

Three-dimensional physical scale model tests for the verification of the stability and overtopping of the head and adjacent trunk corresponding to the breakwater extension. The zone to be represented in the physical model included the representation of the bathymetry, as well as the 500m extension of the breakwater and ≈ 100m of the transition zone between the head of the existing breakwater and the trunk of the extension to be built. The bottom was represented between -20m and -27.5m(ZH).

Objectives

  • Evaluation of the overtopping effects in the tranquility of the entrance channel
  • Caracterization of the wave conditions in the breakwater vicinity
  • Verification of the stability and overtopping of the head and adjacent trunk corresponding to the breakwater extension.

Results

Quantification of percentage of  falls and movements of the Antifer cubes; Overtopping qualification;  Maesurements of free surface elevation in 8 gauges. Video and photo recording for all the tests.
