Entity

Description

The Systematic Maritime Works Observation Program (OSOM) aims to monitor the evolution / behavior of maritime structures, especially breakwaters, and to issue timely  recommendations for maintenance interventions in these maritime structures.

Objectives

  • To enable timely detection of anomalies in maritime structures such as breakwaters.

Results

Timely introduction of corrections in the breakwaters under observation and minimization of the economic and operational consequences of possible breakdowns.

Prediction on the investments required in the short and medium term, based on the historical behavior of the structures observed, taking into account the functional requirements associated with them.

Next challenges

Introduction of aerial vehicles (UAV) in systematic inspection, along with the classical observation;

Use of mobile platforms for insitu inspection, with real time visualization in an augmented reality environment;

Visualization and manipulation of the structures in GIS.
