Description
The hydrogeological map of Mozambique was actualised, based on new drilling data collected in Mozambique in the last decades (at scale 1:250,000). The original map was from the 80's and the actual map involves the provinces of Maputo, Gaza, Inhambane and Manica. At the same time, the groundwater supply points on the same area were identified and the future water suplly to villages over 2,000 inhabitants was defined.
Objectives
- Identification of areas of higher hydrogeological productivity in the hard rock areas of South Mozambique
Results
The hydrogeological maps at scale 1:250,000 were produced and, for each village, the groundwater supply systems were identified and the possible future groundwater supply points were also identified.
