Description

The Maritime Work recommended for the Angeiras Fishing Zone is intended to provide better shelter conditions in relation to the maritime agitation during fishing operations. The LNEC was incubated to carried out scale model tests to confirm the project objectives, both in terms of the stability of the breakwater and the point of view of the remaining sea turbulence conditions in the sheltered zone.

 

Objectives

  • Confirmation of the project objectives in terms of the stability of the breakwater and the point of view of the protection provided.

Results

The set of tests carried out evidenced the need to reinforce some profiles of the structure. As a result of the exploration of the physical model, they were implemented profound changes at the head of the structure, and the new solution was also validated in the study. The tests have also shown a great advantage in the slight rise in the top of the breakwater.
