ANCORIM - Atlantic Network for Coastal Risk Management

Co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, and coordinated by Aquitaine region, the ANCORIM project was developed to help prevent and manage coastal risks affecting the European Atlantic coast. Directed mainly to coastal governance decision makers and technical staff involved in coastal risk issues, but also to schools, the project proposed to create a network of knowledge, tools and skills shared by the different European regions.

• Promote a new territorial and coastal risk management culture.
• Inform decision-makers and populations about coastal risks.
• Contribute to the prevention and management of coastal risks.

Guides about the coastal risks on the European Atlantic coast, their management, decision-making processes, soft coastal protection solutions and a school guide.

Create a network of the scientific and technical resources, as well as provide tools to aid decision-making, and promote examples of good practices.
