Entity
Description
The WONE methodology is based on best practice procedures and to combat water losses and improve the level of operability and efficiency of water supply networks.
It is supported by a software application that automates the integration of network monitoring data, providing DMA performance indicators.
Based on the daily total consumption and minimum nightline consumption, the application identifies network zones with higher water loss volumes, allowing leak detection intervention prioritization.
Objectives
- Reduction of water losses and improvement of the level of operability and efficiency of water supply networks.
Results
The development and implementation of WONE has allowed the reduction of non-revenue water levels (NRW) in the Lisbon distribution network to less than 11% since 2011, placing EPAL in an elite group of the most efficient water utilities worldwide.
WONE methodology is adaptable and universally applicable and can support any utility manager to reduce water losses and increase efficiency.
