Description

The main focus of Technical Assistance was to strengthen the management capacity of the 16 existing water supply systems in São Tomé e Príncipe, under the responsibility of EMAE (Empresa de Água e Eletricidade de São Tomé e Príncipe), in order to guarantee the objectives defined by the Government of São Tomé for the evolution of the quality levels of water supply services in the country, within a framework of economic and financial sustainability.

Objectives

  • Supply and installation of a Geographic Information System (GIS) for the Cadaster of Infrastructures for Water Supply and Sanitation
  • Raising public awareness of the sustainable use of water
  • Develop and implement a technical training program for the transfer of knowledge and continuous training of EMAE technical staff
  • Support EMAE in improving water quality control and monitoring services
  • Support the EMAE in the areas of operational management and maintenance management of infrastructural water supply systems;
  • Support the EMAE in the development of the infrastructural cadaster and define procedures for its periodic updating;
