Description

The project, being implemented during 2018, aims to support the Mozambique Water Supply Regulatory Council (CRA) in defining a more efficient tariff system and structure for the main water supply companies in the country and to develop tariff adjustment guidelines that guide the entire tariff setting process. Consequently, it is expected that the CRA will also improve the segmentation of subsidies to the poorest, while allowing a gradual recovery of total costs.

Objectives

  • Support CRA in defining a fair and inclusive tariff model for the whole of Mozambique

Results

Define a more efficient tariff system and structure for the main water supply companies in the country and to develop tariff adjustment guidelines that guide the entire tariff setting process

Next challenges

Integrate into the tariff model the subtleties and particularities of each Mozambican region, namely regarding the future water needs of the populations and respective investments that are needed in water infrastructure by local management entities.
