Methodology for the Identification of Groundwater Dependent Terrestrial Ecosystems in Portugal

The main objective of this project is to present a methodology for the identification and characterization of groundwater dependent terrestrial ecosystems protected areas of the Natura 2000 Network and Ramsar Sites in Portugal. This project proposes hydrogeological and ecological criteria to determine this dependence, describes the several steps of the methodology that was used to identify this dependency and identifies the main information gaps.
