Description
The study aims to raise knowledge of chemical contaminants in groundwater, including:
- Quantitative evaluation of pesticides and target pharmaceutical substances in groundwater by means of instantaneous sampling;
- Comprehensive screening of target compounds and emerging compounds, including pesticides and pharmaceutical substances in groundwater, using passive samplers.
Study co-financied by EU- POSEUR
Results
Using both instantaneous sampling and passive sampling, pharmacological drugs for both humans and veterinary use, as well as various pesticides, were detected.
In addition to the instantaneous sampling, passive sampling is an important methodology to improve the knowledge about the presence of contaminants, namely of emerging compounds, allowing to rationalize the definition of future monitoring programs.
