Description
This project has contributed to the achievement of the objectives set out in the East Timor Government's National Development Strategic Plan which reflects the aspirations of the people towards the nation's healthy prosperity as well as the sustainable development goals set at the UN, namely: "achieving universal and equitable access to safe and safe drinking water for all".
Results
The action had the following objectives:
• Contribute to ensuring the applicability, operationalization and implementation of a Water Quality Monitoring Plan (WQMP) in Dili and neighboring municipalities and could be extended to the entire national territory;
• Define an investment program to ensure the implementation of the WQMP and sustainability;
• Identify the actions necessary for the training of human resources, in order to guarantee technical capabilities and the maintenance of the WQMP.
• Identification of reference conditions;
• Evaluation of laboratory facilities;
• Initial survey of needs;
• Follow-up of laboratory activities, namely insample collection on the various Dili Supply Areas;
• Conducting field and laboratory tests with the implemented methods;
• Definition of Water Quality Monitoring Plan (WQMP);
• Elaboration of technical norms, manuals of use, procedures and other documents of a technical nature.
