Description
AdP is providing support to three water and sanitation utilities aiming to promote and implement comprehensive and effective roadmaps to transform and prepare them for new rising challenges and for the increasingly demanding climate, social and demographic changes. The underlying concept for the “Utility of the Future - UoF” involves not only digital transformation and technological modernization but also new business processes, innovative organizational frameworks and cultural shifting.

Results
Globally, the “Utility of the Future” roadmaps prepared by AdP focus on the following 10 key-areas:
1. CULTURAL Transformation and Change Management: the UoF will require personalized yet integrated functions, digitally enabled, skilled and empowered people.
2. DIGITAL Transformation: taking advantage of the available new digital solutions, digitization will provide solutions to cut operating inefficiencies.
3. Infrastructure ASSET Management: strategic planning, processes integration, IT systems.
4. Smart INFORMATION Management: Transform data into valuable information for operational, tactical and strategic decision making. Incorporate intelligence in the water systems’ operation to maximize the value of the assets and to reduce operational costs.
5. RESOURCES Recovery and Valorization, including new uses of urban water cycle resources.
6. COSTUMER-Centered Management: costumer experience, virtual assistance, new services that can benefit from available digital technology such as sensors, smart meters, analytics, machine learning.
7. Water and Energy EFICIENCY: Smart metering, onsite and renewable generation, leveraging big data, demand side response and energy storage.
8. RESILIENT Systems: Adaptation to climate change, cooperation between water users, digital on real time systems.
