Description
TESE – Association for Development is a Development Non-governmental organization operating in the following areas: Renawable Energy, Waste Management, WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), Employment and Employability.
TESE designs and implements cooperation projects for development, complemented with the provision of development consultancy services andis ruled by the following global operating principles:
- Contribution to action within civil society and private sector;
- Mutual skills reinforcement;
- Participatory design of management models and governance;
- Adequacy to the local, regional and national context;
- Equity in access to opportunities;
- Social, environmental, institutional and economic sustainability.
The growing volume of work and the recognition for its intervention allowed to consolidate its position as a reference in its areas and countries of operation.
Besides Portugal, TESE operates in Angola, Cape Verde, Sao Tome e Principe, Guinea-Bissau and Mozambique, with officially recognized delegations on the last three countries. TESE aims to promote the access to basic services and the sustainable use of natural resources.
In Guinea-Bissau, TESE has been present since 2009 and in the water sector since 2010. It has focused on building public-community partnerships and building capacity of civil society organizations, in close liaison with Local Authorities. As a NGDO, TESE has a high level of commitment to the quality of work developed, in line with its mission. It counts on a team of 43 permanent, experienced and highly committed employees in obtaining the results. TESE also favors an approach of effective and transparent engagement with all partners and beneficiaries.
